More sports news: Gophers Mens Bball is way too real

Tubby Smith just led the Gophers to #1. The team is undefeated including a big win over the 8th ranked N.Carolina Tarheels. Of course it is early and I get way too excited about MN sports before we can actually tell whats what, but keep your pretty little eyes on the prize and watch for the Golden Gophers to rip up the court this season. Alley-OOP!!!

O.A.R.

I know I'm late to hop on the O.A.R. fan club but they are rocking my world lately. Good music moves my soul. Get their MSG concert dvd if you want your mind to be blown.

Wolves finally get some Love

Kevin Love put up 31-31 against the Knicks last night. That's outside of normal human capabilities. No one has done it since Moses Malone in 1982. I was 1, and basketball was being played with peach baskets. Ok maybe not. But when you think NBA, you think over paid superstar athletes that play when they want to. When you think Kevin Love, think hardest working maximum effort never take the easy way out pimp daddy rebounding machine. If you hate the Wolves I've got one thing to say: Child please.

Wolves unbeaten in pre-season

It may only be the pre-season, but the Timberwolves are looking good. Beating the Lakers and Nuggets will give you confidence if nothing else. The squad looks cohesive and with our Beasley/Love duo we shouldn't miss big Al too much. It will be an interesting and entertaining season. I'm ready. Lets go.

Street League Skateboarding

If you haven't seen or heard of this before you need to take a peek at this trailer. I'm watching the real deal right now and it's sick. No editing, just raw skating trick after trick. Brilliant!! If you're like me and wondered how good the pro's really are, just watch the league. Some of these dudes don't ever miss a trick. My new favorite skater is Shane O'Neill, who I didn't even know existed until now. It's on ESPN2 Wednesday nights. Rob Dyrdek knows how to make money and skating popular thats for sure.

Dear Brett: You are the man!

The silver fox is back in MN practicing. He is going to give it a shot... It sounds like. All I can say is that Brett is a true man. The best thing that could happen to footbal is for the Vikings and Brett to win the super bowl this year. It would bring as much happiness to me (and a great deal of sports fans and others) as when KG got his ring. BOOM!

Victor Cruz: Didn't know him; now you do.

In his first preseason NFL game, Vic C matched statistics unseen since T.O.'s rookie session (140+ yards and 3 TD's or something like that). His one handed catch made Randy Moss eat his heart out. Seriously. You can read more if you want by following the link blow.

Foul Ball Couple from the Astro's Game

It's a sad day in television when a couple is invited on TV to talk about getting hit with a foul ball. If you haven't heard: The couple above was attending an Astors game when a foul ball headed toward their newly snaked seats. The dude moved and his girlfriend was grazed by the ball. Caught on camera, this couple is all of the sudden news-worthy. Other than a mildly humerous video clip, there is nothing else to the story. It just goes to show you how reality TV is taking over, and television no longer requires an imagination or creativity (Except for Entourage, the best show EVER). Also - I'm bored and needed some fresh material.

BREAKING NEWS: FAVRE TO RETIRE

Brett Favre has decided to retire....again. Whether or not this decision sticks won't be known until September in my mind. But as of now Brett is stepping away from football. The Vikings really don't have a starting QB so this will suck for MN. Harsh

Dudeman was caught on film breaking down a bad ass dance sequence at a Celtics game. It looks legit. If only they played MJ at halftime of a T-Wolves game...

Twolves making moves

Sources say the Minnesota Timberwolves are making a deal for Michael Beasley. Thanks to the big summer free agency, other teams have the opportunity to improve their roster. The Wolves are looking better and better as the summer proceeds. Even though I'm not sure where Beasley fits into MN's gameplan, he is a great young talent that will bring an immediate impact to the team. Keep doin' work Wolves.

Breaking News: Lebron James will play in Miami

The new "big three" will be hitting the hardwood in south beach. Miami Heat now has a triple headed monster (Wade, Lebron, Bosh) that will more thank likely compete for a championship immediately and in future years.
I must note the unselfishness it took for Lebron to join D-Wades team. King James is basically saying he doesn't need to be the star of a team. In addition, he is taking an apporximate $30 million dollar pay cut by signing with Miami. Basically he doesn't care about anything except winning at this point. MAD PROPS LEBRON! CONGRATS!

If you have 5 dollars and Chuck Norris has 5 dollars, Chuck Norris has more money than you.

Waiting on Lebron

As the NBA world waits on Lebron's decision, other big names are making some noise along with and loads of money. Here are some notable contracts:

Amar'e Stoudemire to sign 5 yrs $100 million with the Knicks
Joe Johnson signs 6 yrs $119 million with the Hawks
Paul Pierce signs 4 yrs $61 miliion with Celtics
Dirk Nowitzki to sign 4 yrs $80 million with Mavericks
Rudy Gay signs 4 yrs $80 million with Grizzlies

These are just a few big names making big cheese. The most interesting possibility must be the opportunity for king James to play next to Amar'e in the big city at MSG. The knicks can still give Lebron his maximum deal and New York would be back as an immediate contender in the NBA. My gut tells me Lebron will stay in Cleveland though. Stay tuned for the biggest announcement in NBA history.

Welcome back to the blog. TWolves get crapped on.

They haven't had a pick better than 3 overall in the NBA draft since Christian Laetner's blonde ass back when I hardly knew what basketball was. This year we get #4 which means we might draft another guard that will play in Europe or something. David Kahn isn't worried though, so we shouldn't be either. I don't know about him stating that it doesn't matter if we don't get 1 or 2 overall. SUSPECT. Obviously he is new to Minnesota sports because we can't catch a break and myself along with every other wolves fan is sick of those damn balls dropping in someone elses favor (wizards). Knowing who are options are at #4 makes me wonder how many more years it will take to fill the target center seats and create a winning team. Bummer dude and dudettes. That's it for me.

Not since the evacuation of Continental Airlines Arena in 1993 have I seen it this empty.

Well I'm attending yet another Timberwolves game this Saturday. Now after seeing this empty stadium photo at Continental Airlines Arena (home of the NBA's worst N.J. Nets) I'm beginning to wonder how the Target Center will look. I doubt the Wolves will offer free tax filing coupons to increase attendance like the Nets, because losses equals a better chance at #1 in the lottery. Unfortunately that is what fans want at this point but you can't blame them. The upside is that I might be able to sneak up to the 1st or 2nd row to watch the Rockets' Aaron Brooks light it up from 3 point land. We will see I guess. Peace!

AP fumbles; so do the Vikes

We all know this story. Minnesota sports team has a chance at the super bowl, but we can't win. It saddens me to say that AP is the biggest liability in the NFL. He can't hold on to the damn ball. He should have been benched after fumble number 2. What a disaster. You can blame any one of the major mistakes, but 3 fumbles in 1 game is absolutley beyond inexcusable. Good bye super bowl. Good bye Favre. Good bye Vikings.

Coolio. Were like homies

Can Lebron James do the "east bay funk dunk?"

It remains to be seen and unfortunately Lebron is not competing in the 2010 Sprite slam dunk contest. BOOOO!!! But the 2010 contestants were revealed today and naturally I got excited. Then I started looking for bomb ass dunk footage. This video got me thinking... The wolves need some swagger these days. They have none. Zero. Zip. Zilch. That is part of their problem. The other part is they just plain suck. Seriously, the wolves need some Isaiah Rider swag. Check out the clip and you will see what I mean.
