Two For The Money

Matthew McConaughey and Al Pacino star in this sports betting movie inspired by a true story. Grade = A-
Bobby Lang (Matthew McConaughey) is a Division 1 quarterback who wrecks his knee during a spectacular game winning play. While he rehabs over the next 6 years, Lang offers picks for college football via a 900 line. He makes very little money, but picks 80% winners consistently. This sparks interest with Walter Abrams (Al Pacino), owner of the biggest sports betting company in NY. Abrams recruits Lang to work for him. Money starts rolling in and Lang establishes a well know alter ego named John Anthony, all for the company. Well things are successful and business is booming until "John Anthony" can't pick winners any longer. This is when, of course, things go wrong. I wont give away the ending, but I can tell you there is a twist you would never expect. I highly recommend the film. It is as Tony the Tiger would say - "Grrrrrrrrrrrreat!"
