Favre remains retired
Brett Favre told the Minnesota Vikings Tuesday that he will remain retired. My sources tell me that Brett just didn't think his body would hold up through another brutal NFL season. I mean the man is like 60 years old. One big hit and I feel like his body would split in two. It's a good decision and I still think he should have retired the first time he said he would retire. He was on top of his game in Green Bay and on top of the QB leader board in many statistical categories. No, Favre wont loose those records until another QB passes his all time TD or all time INT record, but I feel a decision such as retirement has to be like marriage - it should only be made once in your life. As for the MN Vikings, looks like T-Jack will be under center to start the season. Everyone pray that he can at least improve. Us Minnesota fans just have to cross our fingers that the players around T-jack can make him look good. Only time will tell. I think the Vikings go 9-7 this season and squeak into the playoffs only to loose in the first round. I mean, it is a Minnesota sports team.

The T.O. Show
I like the idea of Terrell's show and I'll even keep watching it, for now. Maybe it's because I love sports and that alone creates a certain appeal, but I don't think anyone really knew anything about Terrell outside of the NFL and people must be curious. In the first episode T.O. shows some compassion, a sense of humor, and his other life to the world. Now I realize that these shows are likely heavily scripted, but there has to be some reality. A few highlights were: 1) The mayor of Buffalo gave Terrell the key to the city and in turn T.O. promised 10 TD's and a trip to the playoffs this season. Not bad, and not very likely. 2) Terrell goes live with channel 7 sports news in Buffalo and does very well actually. 3) Terrell and Kita (not sure how she fits in yet) visit Niagara Falls. 4) Terrell sleeps in PJ's made for a kid. You know, those one piece deals with the footsies on the bottom? That was funny. Overall it's a decent show for a Monday night. Check it out, I think you'd be entertained at the very least.

Deadline for Favre
Today is the day ladies and gentlemen. Brett Favre said he would make a decision on whether or not to play in the NFL (for the MN Vikings) today. Myself, like many others will be waiting for the breaking news all day long. Though it wont be breaking news because everyone knows he wants to play. The question is whether or not he can play at a high level that is demanded in the league. Maybe he'll decide he's going to retire, and then come back to play again later. Who knows? What I do know is he should have stuck with his decision to retire the first time. He was rightfully on top, on top of the list for most interceptions ever by an NFL quaterback. Either way, the guy just needs to make up his mind. Lets go. Training camps starts next weekend and the Vikings need to know who is going to be under center.

This time Lebron's a witness
Click here to watch Lebron get dunked on by Xavier University's Jordan Crawford. This is footage from this week that couldn't be kept on the DL. Gotta give credit to King James for the block attempt though, even though he had no chance.

ESPY Awards
The espy award show aired last night. My grade: B-
Host Samuel Jackson displayed his usual swag on stage as if he is the biggest movie star in the world. Jokes ranged from corny to fantastic, depending on your sense of humor. As you could imagine, jokes about Michael Phelps "smoking his competition" received quite a few laughs. But overall, Phelps was the big winner of the night. He received multiple espys such as best male athlete and best championship performance.
Nelson Mandela received the Arthur Ashe Courage award for making such an impact in South Africa. It was nice to see how sports can bring people together.
Other than that, you didn't miss much. I've summed up a 2+ hour broadcast in 2 paragraphs to prove it.

Golf
The most frustrating sport EVER. Every round, every stroke, every step on the course can make you or break you. I don't seem to have the mental capabilities to shoot a low round anymore. It's the only sport you can play up until your death, so you have to love that. One great shot can make a round as well. If you are a golfer and you're struggling like me, Michael Breed has the answer. Check him out HERE

Entourage season 6 episode 1 "Drive"
Entourage season 6 premiered with a HUGE bang. If each episode continues to be jam packed with all the non-stop goodness I saw last night, there is no doubt in my mind that this will be the best season thus far. Here is what to expect:
Vince is back in the fast lane, preparing for his driving test and an appearance with Jay Leno to promote the premiere of his new movie “Gatsby,” directed by Martin Scorsese. Meanwhile, with a nudge from Sloan, Eric considers moving into his own house, but worries about the impact on Vince and the gang. Looking for career advancement, Lloyd confronts Ari with an ultimatum, which Ari counters with a proposition of his own.

Why not to bank with TCF
I recently learned the hard way that TCF bank "modified" their overdraft policy. They decided to disclose the new information in small print on your monthly statement. Who reads their paper statement these days? No one, because everything is done online. Anyways, TCF now charges you an overdraft fee for pending transactions even if they post a day or two later after you have transferred or deposited funds. Sorry, you are already too late. I don't know how other banks do it, but that is bogus. I guess TCF must be struggling in this economy, probably because their customer service sucks too. You have to hold for someone with any power to reverse a fee, then have them send an email to the manager who's supposed to call you back just to have additional fees reversed. That's not all, I also get charged a fee for not writing enough checks every month. What happened to "totally free checking?" These are just a couple reasons to say good bye TCF, hello credit union.

It's business time
Flight of the Conchords supposedly airs on HBO. However, I have never seen it on TV listings, and have never seen the program. None the less, if the show is as funny as this song it must be good. Enjoy
