The espy award show aired last night. My grade: B-
Host Samuel Jackson displayed his usual swag on stage as if he is the biggest movie star in the world. Jokes ranged from corny to fantastic, depending on your sense of humor. As you could imagine, jokes about Michael Phelps "smoking his competition" received quite a few laughs. But overall, Phelps was the big winner of the night. He received multiple espys such as best male athlete and best championship performance.
Nelson Mandela received the Arthur Ashe Courage award for making such an impact in South Africa. It was nice to see how sports can bring people together.
Other than that, you didn't miss much. I've summed up a 2+ hour broadcast in 2 paragraphs to prove it.
